Two men are in police custody after shots were fired at an HPD cruiser in southeast Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two men are in police custody after shots were fired at a Houston Police Department cruiser and a short chase this morning in southeast Houston.

No one was injured.

The shooting happened in the 5300 block of Southwind near Martin Luther King near Jones High School around 5am.

An HPD officer was parking his car near Jones High School when he saw a vehicle drive up and then three muzzle flashes. He was not hit.

Shortly after, a short chase began and ended about a half-mile away at a home in the 7200 block of Tobruk.

Two men were taken into custody. Police say they had a stolen .45-caliber gun.
