Teen accused of murder during apparent drug deal, deputies say

NEW CANEY, TX (KTRK) -- A 17-year-old is charged with murder after a man was shot to death in what authorities say was a drug deal gone wrong.

On Sunday, Joshua Raymond Foland, 20, was shot to death. Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office say the shooting took place when Foland and Nicholas Andrew Valverde, 17, tried to buy drugs from a 19-year-old in the 25000 block of Lantern Lane in New Caney.

Valverde was booked into Montgomery County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery and murder.
