PASADENA, TX (KTRK) -- Police are looking for the gunman who shot a 16-year-old in the stomach overnight in Pasadena.
It happened around 12:30am at an apartment complex on Sycamore near Preston.
Police say two men were sitting in their apartment when they heard a knock at the door.
One of the men opened the door and police say the person outside said that their car was hit in the parking lot. Then he pulled out a gun.
Police say there was some sort of struggle. The gun went off, hitting the 16-year-old in the stomach sitting on the couch.
Detectives believe that the man with the gun had intentions of robbing the person at the apartment, but he took off after allegedly shooting the teen.
Police gave a description of the suspected gunman.
"The suspect is a black male, 5'11," with a short afro. He was seen leaving in a green Buick, four-door," Pasadena police Lt. Tom Warnke said.
The teen was taken to Bayshore Hospital. There is no word on his condition.
If you have any information, you are asked to call the Pasadena Police Department.
