Bottoms up! Election-themed cocktail recipes
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A presidential election only comes around once every four years, so indulge in these decadent, themed cocktails from our friends at The General Public.
HILLARITA
- 1-1/2 oz. Dulce Vida Blanco
- 1 oz. Paula's Orange
- 2 oz. S&S
- 1 oz. Basil Hayden
Combine all ingredients except Basil Hayden in a shaker tin with ice. Shake until combined. Put new ice in a mason jar and strain ingredients into the jar. Top with Basil Hayden. Garnish with a red & white straw and a lime wedge with a pom-pom stick.
TRUMPTINI
- 2 oz. Karlsson's Gold Vodka
- 1/2 oz. Dolin Vermouth
Combine Karlsson's and Dolin in a Boston Shaker. Stir until combined. Strain into a martini glass. Place martini glass on gold plates with a caviar spoon. Top with gold flakes and serve IMMEDIATELY.

SHRINKING JOHNSON
- 1-1/2 oz. Basil Hayden
- 3/4 oz. lemon juice
- 3/4 oz. honey
- 5 basil leaves
- Ginger ale
- 1 basil spring
Combine all ingredients except Basil Hayden in a shaker tin with ice. Shake until combined. Put new ice in a mason jar and strain ingredients into the jar. Top with Basil Hayden. Garnish with a red & white straw and a lime wedge with a pom-pom stick.
THE STEIN
Serve draft beer of choice in an 18-ounce recyclable cup. Garnish with red straw-Stein sticker.

- 1-1/2 oz. Knob Creek Rye
- 3/4 oz. dry vermouth
- 1/2 oz. Cocchi
- 1/4 oz. Capari
Combine and stir with ice to chill. Double strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a luxardo cherry.
