Cyndy Garza Roberts, Woman of Distinction

A native of San Antonio and descendent of one of the founding families of San Antonio, she grew up with the true Hispanic and Texas spirit of giving. A graduate of UT Austin, Cyndy began her career as a television reporter at KTBC-TV. In 1979 she became a television broadcaster in Houston at KTRK-TV, Channel 13. Cyndy was one of the founders of the Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals. She served on the boards of Latin Women's Initiative, The Komen Foundation, The Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, and Talento Bilinguel de Houston. Her honors include: Houston Woman on the Move, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Trailblazer, and a Most Influential Woman in Houston by Houston Woman Magazine. This year she will co-chair Cristo Rey Gala. Currently she is the Public Affairs Director for H-E-B Houston. She is also the President of Latin Women's Initiative, a Director of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a Board Member of Legacy Community Health and a member of Amigas Para Niños.
