Suspect arrested in alleged abduction, assault on Galveston College campus

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A suspect is in custody, charged in connection to an alleged abduction and sexual assault on the Galveston College campus.

According to Galveston police, the victim was in the process of using the ATM on Avenue Q around 12:40am Sunday when she was abducted by Odis Demond Jenkins.

Jenkins, 33, has been charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping and sexual assault.

Police say you should always remember to pay close attention to your surroundings and choose an ATM in a well-lit and high-traffic area. If possible, you should also visit the ATM during the daytime with a friend.
