HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is looking for three suspects in the fatal shooting of a man at a northeast Houston apartment complex. The victim, who is 38, has not been identified pending notification of his family, police said in a statement.

The fatal shooting occurred around 11am on Saturday, in the 12000 block of Fleming Drive, inside the parking lot of the Falls of Birchbrook Apartments. Police say three suspects were captured on surveillance video driving what looked like a silver-colored Chrysler. The victim was standing by his own vehicle in the parking lot when the car approached. Two male passengers got out of the silver car, and one was carrying a pistol, according to police.

Both men approached the victim and asked for money. The victim struggled with the man who held the gun, and was shot. All three suspects got back into their vehicle and fled down Maxey Road, according to authorities.

Police describe the vehicle as a four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler with damage to the left, rear bumper and partial Texas license plates: D4861 or D6148.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the HPD homicide division at 713-308-3600, or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
