MARIANA TRENCH (KTRK) -- A mesmerizing jellyfish greeted a team of researchers exploring the depths of the ocean last week.

A camera tethered to a NOAA remotely operated vehicle spotted the captivating creature 3,700 meters below the surface while exploring an area of the Mariana Trench dubbed the Enigma Seamount:

Researchers say the movement of the jellyfish's two sets of tentacles suggest it is about to pounce on another unsuspecting sea creature.

The yet-to-be-named creature belongs to the genus Crossota.
