Shelter-in-place order for Texas City lifted

TEXAS CITY, TX -- A shelter-in-place that had been in effect for Texas City has been lifted.

The shelter-in-place order was put into effect because of an issue at the sulfur recovery unit at Marathon's Galveston Bay Refinery, according to Texas City emergency officials.

By around 12:30am, the shelter-in-place was lifted.
