Weekend Houston-area closures you need to know

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Join us for the Downtown Rodeo Parade this Saturday! Several downtown streets will be blocked off for all of the festivities. Partial closures include Walker, Bagby, Lamar, Travis, Bell, and Louisiana, from 8:30am-2pm. Theater District parking is available, and prices vary.

I-45 main lanes at Bay Area Blvd will be closed along with the Bay Area Blvd. overpass beginning at 9pm Friday, February 26th through Monday, February 29th at 5am to take down the Bay Area Boulevard bridge.

Drivers going southbound will need to exit the main lanes at El Dorado and detour to the frontage road to the Bay Area Boulevard intersection and re-enter the main lanes before the Nasa Parkway intersection.

Drivers going northbound will need to exit the main lanes at Bay Area Boulevard and detour to the frontage road to the Bay Area Blvd. intersection and re-enter the main lanes after the Bay Area Boulevard intersection. The main lanes will only be closed this weekend. The Bay Area Boulevard intersection will be closed until June 2016. Drivers going southbound wanting to access Bay Area west will need to exit NASA Parkway and U-turn stay on the frontage road and turn right onto Bay Area Boulevard. Drivers heading northbound that want to access Bay Area east will need to exit El Dorado and turn, stay on the frontage road and turn right to access Bay Area Boulevard.

The Hardy Toll Road Airport Connector is blocked off between the Hardy Toll Road and JFK Boulevard through 5am on Tuesday. Your best detour is to use the Hardy Toll Road to the North Beltway to JFK.
