COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (KTRK) -- The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs observed a moment of silence before their basketball game on Saturday in honor of the death of an officer killed in the Planned Parenthood attack.

A Huffington Post reporter took this touching photo of a UCCS officer sobbing and being consoled by the school's Mountain Lion mascot.

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs police officer Garrett Swasey, 44, was a six-year veteran of the force. He was killed during the siege.

Police say Robert Lewis Dear killed three people during the shooting rampage and hours-long standoff at the clinic in Colorado Springs on Friday. Dear is in custody and is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.
