HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A middle school student did something Thursday that frightened parents always hope their kids will do if a stranger gets too close: she fought back.

A Mayde Creek Junior High student was walking in the 2600 block of Greenhouse Road around 3:45pm near the intersection of Saums Road on Thursday when a driver stopped in the middle of the road.

The girl says the Hispanic male driver got out of a white extended cab Nissan Titan pickup and grabbed her by her right arm, trying to pull her over to his vehicle.

The girl was able to kick the man in the shin and run toward the playground across from Mayde Creek Elementary where she told an adult who called 911.

Authorities searched the area, but didn't see any signs of the suspect or vehicle.

The man is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with long narrow sideburns.

Katy Independent School District sent out a Stranger Danger alert to parents, staff and the community following the reported attack.

If you have any information in this case, call police.
