Bicyclist critically injured after being struck by vehicle

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 13-year-old teenage boy was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in north Houston, according to police.

The accident happened in the 17000 block of Wayforest Drive and Greens Road.

According to authorities, it appears the teen swerved in front of the oncoming vehicle and the driver couldn't stop in time and struck him.

An ambulance took the injured teen to Texas Children's Hospital.

No charges are expected, police say, since it appears to be an accident.
