Suspected church burglar captured by Cleveland PD

CLEVELAND, TX -- A 22-year-old Cleveland man, Joseph Anthony Gilmore, is facing a Burglary of a Building charge after being arrested Sunday, Nov. 8, in connection to a burglary at Galilee Baptist Church, 710 Watson St.

According to Capt. Scott Felts, spokesperson for Cleveland Police Department, the burglary was reported around 10:20 p.m.

"Upon arrival, officers found the church had been burglarized and numerous items were stolen from the church," Felts said. "An alert citizen assisted officers with information. With this information, officers were able to apprehend the burglar and return the stolen property to the church."
