The lockdown at Oyster Creek Elementary is now lifted following a search for man on the campus. It's unclear whether that man was found on or near the school's campus.

Fort Bend ISD had said earlier that a man entered the campus and did not sign in.

This message was sent out to parents after the lockdown was lifted:

Dear Oyster Creek Elementary Parents and/or Guardians,

As a follow-up message to our earlier communication, our school went on lockdown around 11:45 a.m. as a precaution after receiving a report a man entered the building and did not sign in. As a precaution, the FBISD Police and Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office searched our school building thoroughly and made sure all of our students and staff were safe and accounted for. At approximately 1:15 p.m., the school resumed normal operations after police officers secured the building.

Please know that your students were kept safe during this incident, and we appreciate how our staff and students handled the situation. This is a good reminder to everyone about the importance of signing in at the front desk of the school any time you enter the building. Please know that we take any report seriously and take all precautions to ensure a safe learning environment.

Thank you for your continued support of OCE. If you have any questions, please call the school at (281)634-5910.
Sincerely,
Lisa Langston
Principal
