Lamar University police searching campus for armed robbery suspect

BEAUMONT, TX (KTRK) -- Police on the campus of Lamar University in Beaumont are searching for an armed robbery suspect.

Campus police say the robbery happened at around noon today in parking lot E-5 between the Cherry engineering building and the Lucas engineering building.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall, wearing a knit cap, black shirt, khaki pants, low-hanging belt and earrings.

An alert when out to all students on campus.
