Houston Texans cut kicker Randy Bullock

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Texans released kicker Randy Bullock Tuesday, Eyewitness News has learned.

In his place, the team has signed Nick Novak, who has kicked for a number of teams.

This season, Bullock hit 5 of 6 field goals, but missed two extra points. Bullock is the only kicker this season to have missed more than one extra-point attempt.

During the past two seasons, Bullock was 66-for-66 on PATs. For his career, the former Texas A&M Aggie has hit 80.3 percent of his field goal attempts.

Bullock was a 2012 fifth-round draft pick by the Texans and spent his rookie year on injured reserve.

Novak spent the 2011-2014 seasons with the San Diego Chargers. He's only ever missed one regular-season extra point in his career -- one that was blocked. He made 84.6 percent of his field goal attempts in 2014.
