AUSTIN, TX -- A 15-year-old boy is dead and three other teens were injured in what authorities say was a street racing incident outside Austin.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that a 2014 Cadillac and a 2009 BMW were racing on Wells School Road near Wells Lane in northeastern Travis County on Friday night. A crash occurred after one of the vehicles struck a group of teens who were watching the race.

Austin-Travis County EMS reported the boy's death via Twitter. It also said that three other teens were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Among those hurt was believed to be the driver of the BMW, while the Cadillac driver was not believed to have been injured.
