Fatal shooting under investigation in SW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a fatal shooting in southwest Houston.

The shooting happened around 10:30pm at 7700 Harwin Drive at Fondren Road.

Officers in the area heard a gunshot and watched as the victim fell to the ground in a gas station parking lot. That victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspected shooter was arrested after he was found near the scene.

Detectives are still working to piece together what happened and say the man claims the shooting was in self defense.
