Neighbor spots fire
A neighbor walking his dogs took action when he saw smoke coming from a home.

Firefighters in northwest Harris County are thanking a neighbor for taking action after he saw a house on fire.

Authorities say the man was walking his dogs just after five Monday morning when he spotted smoke coming from the house on Pewter Court near Franz Road and the Grand Parkway in the Williamsburg Hamlet subdivision.

The neighbor called 911.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading to the next house.

Harris County fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire. They say they've battled six fires this Christmas so far.
