HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A car crash Wednesday in northwest Harris County has apparently led to the discovery of drugs, an illegal gun and thousands of dollars in cash, according to authorities.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office says the discovery came after a minor crash in which a driver of a Jaguar rear-ended a Dodge Charger in the 14400 block of Telge Road. Authorities suspected the driver of the Jaguar, identified as 32-year-old Adriyel Mask, of drunk driving. He was detained and his vehicle was towed.

While inventorying the vehicle for towing, deputies say they found a loaded .44 magnum handgun under the driver's side floor mat. In the trunk, deputies say they found a backpack that contained 982 grams of Xanax pills individually bagged, 299 grams of Percocet pills, $11,300 in cash, and an electronic scale.

Mask was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated and unlawful carry of a weapon. His bond is set at $41,500.
