Houston-area man added to Texas most-wanted list

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A "violent" man from the Houston area is the latest felon to be added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.

Daniel "Buzzard" Wright, 58, is wanted on charges of failure to comply with sex offender registration and parole violation.

Wright has ties to Houston and Webster in Harris County; Freeport in Brazoria County; and Port Arthur and Sabine Pass in Jefferson County. Authorities describe him a "violent sex offender" with a criminal history that includes aggravated sexual assault of a child, burglary and drug possession.

Wright is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 195 pounds. He has multiple tattoos that include tattoos on his arms, right thigh, back, abdomen and chest. He also has scars on his left knee.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact authorities. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.

Cash rewards are offered to people who provide information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, there are five different ways to provide anonymous tips:

Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

Text the letters DPS - followed by your tip - to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.

Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.

Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the "SUBMIT A TIP" link (under the "About" section).

Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App. The app is currently available for iPhone users on the App Store and Google Play
