City employee accused of selling meth
Thomas Claude Beavers, 30, is charged with delivering a controlled substance.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A city of Houston employee was arrested for allegedly selling methamphetamine on Craigslist.

Thomas Claude Beavers, 30, is charged with delivering a controlled substance. A Harris County investigator posed as a buyer on Craigslist and arranged to purchase methamphetamine from Beavers for $210 dollars. Investigators said the meet-up happened behind city hall.

Beavers works as a clerk at City Hall, according to investigators. His public LinkedIn profile indicates he is also working on a Master's degree at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Investigators believe Beavers has been selling methamphetamine on Craigslist for about a year.

He is currently behind bars on $20,000 dollars bond.
