Mass adoption event
Twenty-five kidds joined new families today in a mass adoption.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Children from troubled homes are starting new lives with new families.

Twenty-five children were adopted in a CPS mass adoption event Thursday. The new parents say they're filling a void in their lives, and the children are thrilled to have permanent homes.

We asked Jared Jones, who was just adopted, what he's excited about.

"I get new clothes. That's always cool," he said. "New shoes. I have a cousin to play with. That's even better."

There are more than 1,000 children in Harris County waiting to be adopted.
