HIGHLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- There is a possible drowning in Highlands being reported after a body was pulled from the San Jacinto River.

Harris County deputies recovered the body of a 26-year-old male around 10pm near Banana Bend Beach.

Deputies are in the process of notifying family members and interviewing witnesses who were still at the scene. This is a private business. Authorities say there are several thousand people on any given weekend and it's known as a party beach.

Last week, the Coast Guard told Eyewitness News that with all of the flooding we have had lately it has strengthened the currents in some of the rivers. We don't know if that was a factor that could have played a role in the incident.
