Man suspected of shovel attack has been arrested

CONROE, Texas (KTRK) -- A man wanted for allegedly beating another man with a shovel has been arrested.

According to Montgomery County sheriff's office, Thomas Lyn Barringer, 26, was arrested at about 2 a.m. Sunday at the 8300 block of Piney Shores in Conroe.

Barringer's arrest comes a day following the victim, Andrew Massy's death.

According to authorities, Barringer attacked Massey with a shovel handle last Friday while he slept.
