Man in SUV shot multiple times outside Friendswood Wingstop

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas (KTRK) -- A 26-year-old man was shot outside a Wingstop in the 3100 block of FM-528 near Bay Area Boulevard in Friendswood Tuesday night.

Video from the scene shows his rented SUV riddled with bullet holes.

The City of Friendswood posted on Facebook, saying the man was shot at close range multiple times at 9:22 p.m. Tuesday while he was sitting in his car.

The restaurant manager told ABC13 the man picked up food, went to his car, and that's when the shots were fired.

An ambulance transported the man to the hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Friendswood police say two suspects, one armed with a long gun and the other with a handgun, shot the man multiple times through the closed window of the rental vehicle.

The men ran away, but witnesses saw them getting into a vehicle parked on Bay Area Boulevard.

Friendswood police say witnesses provided officers with suspect information and investigators are following up on leads.

No one inside the store was hurt.

Authorities say the investigation indicates the shooting is linked to recent shooting incidents in the mid-Galveston County area.
