Man charged with murder of ex-wife, mother-in-law
Phat Le, 47, has been charged in the murders of the women, believed to be his ex-wife and mother-in-law.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A north Harris County man has been charged with stabbing his ex-wife and mother-in-law to death.

Harris County Sheriff Department says Phat Le, 47, allegedly killed his ex-wife Thanh Nguyen and his mother-in-law Dep Nguyen Wednesday night.

Across the street, Tiffany Cunningham was also shocked by what she saw.

"I came outside to take the trash out and I see all the police lined up along the street. The lady next door came out and she's like, 'You know a lady died in there?'"

Neighbors say it was Le's brother who found the women's bodies inside after coming to the apartment to do a welfare check on the family.

Court records show the couple divorced a few months ago but still lived together. Their daughters, ages nine and eleven, were not home when the murders occurred. Now, two little girls have lost their mom and grandmother, while their dad is charged with their murders.

"The grandma used to sit outside every day and wave, with the baby. Every day. Just the other day, I saw her," said Cunningham.
