Man arrested after allegedly trying to set his mom's home on fire in Spring

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- A Spring neighborhood was on lockdown Tuesday night while authorities searched for a man who allegedly tried to set his own mother's home on fire.

The suspect was taken into custody just before 10 p.m.

According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office, deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 5500 block of Maplegate around 8 p.m.

When they arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene.

During the search, investigators set up a perimeter in the area of Treaschwig Road and Jay Drive.

No other details have been released.
