Large grass fire scorches East Beach area of Galveston Island

GALVESTON, Texas -- The flames could be seen for miles Saturday night as Galveston firefighters responded to a large grass fire on East Beach.
It started some time before 8 p.m.
Social media photos showed large flames coming near Seawall Boulevard.
No injuries were reported.
