La Marque ISD allowed to stay open

LA MARQUE, TX (KTRK) -- We have an update on the La Marque school district's fight to stay open.

Back in February, the TEA ordered the district to close by July 1 due to unacceptable ratings and poor financial accountability.

The district appealed and on Wednesday, the TEA issued an abatement order, allowing the district to stay operational until new academic and financial ratings are released later this year.
