Jury duty canceled in Harris Co. through Oct. 13
Jury duty has been canceled in Harris County for two more weeks.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Jury duty has been canceled at Harris County Criminal Court through Oct. 13.

Those summoned by the Harris County District Clerk for jury duty until that date do not need to appear and will not have to reschedule.

If you had rescheduled jury service anytime on or before Oct. 13, it is canceled and you do not need to serve unless you choose to reschedule for a date on or after Oct. 16.

Those summoned to appear at one of the Justice of the Peace annexes should contact the court to which they were summoned for further instruction.

Harris County officials had previously canceled jury duty until Sept. 22 due to damage sustained during Hurricane Harvey. District Attorney Kim Ogg's office told Eyewitness News it could take up to eight months to repair damage to the flooded courthouse downtown.

The City of Houston Municipal Court reopened last week, and their jurors have already begun reporting for duty.
