HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- We've been seeing many amazing people doing brave things throughout this historic flood.



Eyewitness News Reporter Marla Carter found many people who volunteered to help rescue stranded folks with their boat in the area of Highway 249.



Several good Samaritans came to the rescue of people at the Hyatt Place Monday afternoon near St. Luke's Hospital, which had been evacuated.



One family who was rescued traveled to Houston from Corpus Christi to get away from Hurricane Harvey.



So far, more than 3,000 water rescues have been conducted around the Houston area.
