A Houston police officer shot in the line of duty is finally home after seven months of rehabilitation.
Officer Ronny Cortez left TIRR Memorial Hermann Monday morning.

Cortez and another officer were shot by a burglary suspect in southwest Houston in February.
A bullet pierced Cortez's spine and paralyzed him from the waist down.
In April Cortez told us he would walk again, and just last week he took his first steps.
