Update on Houston debris cleanup and what you can expect
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Mayor Sylvester Turner had an update regarding the trash a few days ago, but since it is Monday it's worth the reminder.
If you have a debris pile that needs to be picked up, you need to report that through the 311 phone app or phone calls to 311.
The city does not use 311 call volume to prioritize storm debris removal so residents should only make one report per address. Multiple reports to 311 will not be accepted and will not speed up or prioritize debris collection.
Use the 311 app or website for faster service. Making a phone call can take up to nine minutes at peak times.

When will the debris at my home be collected?
Collections are taking place throughout the city but the schedule for each address or block is not available. Check the City of Houston Solid Waste Management Facebook page for more information.
Why wasn't all of my debris collected when trucks came through my area?
Some residents may have more debris than can be collected in one truckload. So, many times they just make one pass and plan to return later for the rest.
If you have debris in your yard you need to make sure it's within 10 to 15 feet from the curb. Some of the equipment can't make it past that point.
