Houston police chief tickets driver for going 140 MPH
Chief Art Acevedo said he cited a driver Friday for flying down a Houston roadway.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston's top cop said he ticketed a driver Friday for going 140 mph.

Chief Art Acevedo posted a photo of the speeding ticket on Twitter.

Acevedo said the driver was traveling more than twice the speed limit in a 65 mph zone.

He said the ticket beats the previous record for someone who was going 130 mph in a 55 mph zone.

In case you're wondering why the driver was not arrested for reckless driving, Acevedo tweeted, "Totality of the circumstances, including flow of traffic, etc."
