Houston mayor candidates Adrian Garcia, Sylvester Turner tied in new poll

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A new poll shows a two-way tie for Houston's next mayor.

The Houston Association of Realtors' poll shows former Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia, deadlocked with Sylvester Turner.

The telephone poll survey of 500 Houstonians was conducted from September 21 through 24.

It also shows candidates, including Chris Bell, Bill King and Stephen Costello, tied.

The poll included questions about the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) and showed a majority of Houstonians in favor of it.
