Tenth shooting victim revealed in West University shooting, Pooja Lodhia reports.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Monday morning, September 26.

Bullets flew on the quiet streets near West University.

Police say disgruntled attorney Nathan DeSai had two guns and was shooting at anybody he saw.

DeSai was shot and killed by officers. For weeks, Houston police have been reporting nine shooting victims, but that's news to number ten: John Michael Henderson.

"One went in my chest and went out," Henderson explained. "I had fragments in my face. I had fragments in my arm. There's still numbness here in my chin from the fragment."

Henderson was on his way to work when he heard the shatter of broken glass. One bullet hit his windshield and the other hit his passenger window.

"I didn't realize that I had been shot until I looked down and saw the blood on my shirt," he said.

He was focused on getting to CHI St. Luke's Hospital.

Six weeks later, he's still meeting with doctors every few days, but isn't letting his injuries change his way of life.

"I really don't want to let that guy win," he said. "So I take the same route to work every day."

Houston police confirm Henderson to be a tenth victim, but couldn't say why he wasn't included in the initial count.
