Firefighters called to house fire in E. Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Firefighters were called to extinguish a house fire in east Houston.

The fire happened around 5am on Jensen Drive near the Eastex Freeway.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire coming from the one-story duplex but no one was home.

Fire officials believe the home may have been abandoned.

At one point, firefighters had to fall back and fight the fire from a distance because of the intensity of the flames.

There are no injuries reported. The fire is under investigation.
