Flooded church holding masses at Klein HS
St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church took on water during floods caused by Hurricane Harvey.

KLEIN, Texas (KTRK) -- A local high school is being transformed this weekend into a place of worship.

While the auditorium of Klein High School is usually home to musical productions and other school events, today you will find Catholics gathered for worship.

St. Ignatius of Loyola Church on Cypresswood was filled with several feet of water during flooding from Harvey.

Harvey's devastating floods reached deep into St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in northwest Harris Co.

All the way into the sanctuary, where parishioners worship, water could be found underneath pews and in other rooms.

The cleanup began as soon as the water receded, and on Friday, mass was held outside.

This morning, mass was held at 9 and 11 at Klein High School, as the church continues to get back on its feet.
