HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Last week, we reported on coins that were being circulated around Houston that are worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Well, the first winner in the 'Great Houston Treasure Hunt' has claimed his prize.

Kyler Syfrett of Splendora cashed in a specially engraved nickel worth $200. He says he found it after his mother told him to empty his pockets and check his change. She had just watched our report about the lucky nickels.

There are other nickels out there worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars and the hunt goes on through tomorrow at 5pm.

If you find a nickel with 3 numbers engraved on the back, go to the George R. Brown Convention Center to claim your prize!
