Teen in critical condition after hit and run
Police were out Tuesday morning looking for clues into Monday night's hit and run wreck that left a teen in critical condition.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The search continues for the driver who mowed over a teenager with a car in north Harris County, then fled the scene.

The 17-year-old is currently in critical condition, recovering at the hospital after being hit along Treaschwig last night.

It happened at around 9:20pm. The teen had just finished his shift at a nearby McDonald's and began his walk down the 5300 hundred block of Treschwig toward home.

But he never made it. Just shortly after turning on the road, witnesses saw a large, dark-colored truck leave the roadway and hit the teenager. He suffered life threatening injuries, and was transported via Life Flight.

Precinct 4 deputy constables were out this morning gathering more evidence. Their first priority is finding the truck that left the scene.

"The truck we're looking for is a blue or black truck, possibly a two-ton," said Lt. Greg Lowry with Precinct 4. "It's going to have wide towing in it. It's lifted, with big tires. It's going to have loud exhaust, and broken handle in the lift gate."
