The Woodlands High School team honors teammate after injury
WACO, TX (KTRK) -- The Woodlands High School football team honored one of their teammates during their game in Waco Saturday afternoon.
Grant Milton, a senior at The Woodlands High School, was injured during last week's football game. In the final moments of the game, Grant collapsed on the sidelines. His father, Miles Milton, was in the stands at the game.
"He had a headache," he said. "He put a towel over his head, and started vomiting. Then he passed out."
Grant underwent a two-hour emergency surgery to stop bleeding in the brain.
"It's a shock to the heart, and a punch to the gut that I don't think any of us were prepared for," Miles added.

Seven days later, Grant's teammates hit the gridiron to honor him with a victory. The team carried his jersey and pads on the field.
"He is still a part of our team, even though he is not here," head coach Mark Schmid said. "He's in the hospital, he's still part of the team and he's a guy that we think about all the time."
Support, prayers and donations have come from across the globe.
"We've got priests in Kenya, Japan, people all over the world are praying," Miles said. "So, that gives us hope that Grant can't help but to have a full recovery."
Earlier this week, Houston Texans star J.J. Watt donated $10,000 to Grant's GoFundMe account.
"If there's anything that I can do to help, please let me know. Sending my best wishes to Grant and the entire Milton family," Watt posted on the account.
Although Grant remains in the ICU, his dad says he is showing some signs of improvement.
"He will occasionally respond to our voices by very slight movement of his eyelids," Miles said.
