BATTLE GROUND, Washington (KTRK) -- An outbreak of chickenpox is forcing kids in Washington State to miss school.

A spokesperson for the school says the exposure may have occurred between Oct. 13 and 17.

Starting Monday, students and staff who do not have documented immunity to the virus must stay away from campus for three full weeks.

At least five cases have been confirmed at Daybreak Primary School.

Health officials say the kids can come back sooner if they provide proof of immunity.
