'Game of Thrones' premiere shatters records with 17.4 million audience

The return of Game of Thrones was record breaking.

HBO says the season 8 premiere was watched by 17.4 million people across all platforms Sunday night.

It's a meal fit for the kingdoms of Westeros.

That's the biggest same night audience for the show, beating the previous season 7 finale record by half a million viewers. It's also the largest audience for any scripted television show so far this year.
