HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- While you revel in the Christmas gifts that you received this week, authorities want you to be mindful about leaving piles of empty boxes on the curb.
Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap is advising residents about empty boxes signaling to potential thieves.
According to Heap, the boxes that are left for trash collectors is like advertising to criminals about all the great new gifts you received.
Heap suggests breaking the boxes down or cutting them up for easy disposal.
