NFL players to raise money for injured football player from The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- The 21 Strong Foundation will host a pre-Super Bowl fundraiser benefit Grant Milton, the The Woodlands football player who suffered a brain hemorrhage during a game last year.
The Feb. 2 event at Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands will feature a VIP reception, cocktail party and silent auction. Several NFL personalities, including former and current players, will be in attendance. Houston-native Grammy nominee Tauren Wells will also perform at the event.
Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. They can be purchased online.
"We are beyond thrilled to help put on this event," said Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands co-owner Bob Milner. "Grant's story is something that is close to my heart, and I am excited to work with the 21 Strong Foundation to bring a truly meaningful evening to The Woodlands."

During a November game in Waco, Milton collapsed on the field. He then underwent an emergency two-hour surgery to stop bleeding in his brain, and has been receiving medical care ever since. In December, he was transferred to a rehabilitation facility in The Woodlands.
A GoFundMe campaign has since raised more than $145,000 to offset the costs associated with Milton's medical treatment, including a generous donation from Houston Texans player JJ Watt.
