GPS can't catch up to Houston road construction
GPS can't catch up to Houston road construction.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you've driven the streets of Houston, you know the construction is everywhere and never-ending.

For some, that means getting lost or having a longer drive because the GPS simply can't keep up with all the changes.

Eyewitness News reporter Erica Simon compared two travel apps: Google Maps and Waze.

Both did fine for a while, but sure enough, they got off track and gave us the familiar "re-routing" message many of us have seen.

The good news is you can do your part as a driver. You can make a route suggestion to Google Maps, so that hopefully other people don't have to be confused.

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. Click Directions.
  3. Enter the starting point and destination for the route for which your directions were wrong.
  4. In the bottom right of the map, click Send feedback.
