HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are trying to figure out why a man was walking on the freeway when he was hit and killed overnight in southeast Houston.
Investigators say several cars had to dodge the man who was on the Gulf Freeway near Almeda Genoa around 3:30am.
One car wasn't able to stop in time and struck him.
The driver did stop to help, but the man died at the scene.
The road closure following the accident also caused several secondary accidents involving at least nine cars.
