Man dies after freak accident outside Missouri Jack in the Box restaurant

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (KTRK) -- A quick trip through a Jack in the Box drive thru turned deadly for one Missouri man.

Police say 20-year-old Charles Wood, Jr., opened his door to grab his food because he was too far away from the window.

When he did, he accidentally placed the car in reverse instead of park.

The car went backwards into a tree, pinning Wood in between.

He was left with severe neck and head injuries. He later died at the hospital.
